The ‘modern’ cash register now to be seen at work in almost every large shop, has taken the place of the old fashioned open till. By the aid of its marvelous mechanism it keeps a record of all transactions, indicating the value of the purchase, and printing the figures and the nature of the business done on the ticket for the customer, and also on a roll of paper tape for the information of the proprietor.
