John Llaverias and Labro ( Vilanova , 1865-Lloret de Mar , 1938 ) was among artist , painter and founding member of the Artistic Circle of St. Luke. He was a founding member of the Artistic Circle of St. Luke and trained, in the modernist period as an illustrator and painter. His training as an illustrator began in magazines Readings and Hispania . As a painter, in 1896 he gave up oil painting in the watercolor technique that helped to restore Catalonia . The activity, however, made him more popular, was the cartoonist and humorous illustrator .
